The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets.

Morgan Stanley FID Secured Lending (“FSL”) is seeking an Executive Director to lead its global Corporate Credit Financing Portfolio Management team based in New York.

FSL sits within Morgan Stanley’s Fixed Income Division and provides financing facilities to asset originators, aggregators and financial sponsors. FSL currently manages a portfolio backed by a diverse range of assets including private credit / corporate loans, fund capital commitments, consumer loans, residential and commercial mortgages, and infrastructure loans across the US, Europe, and APAC regions. 

The FSL Portfolio Management team is responsible for the active risk management of the business, spanning transaction evaluation, portfolio construction, and ongoing portfolio strategy. The team plays a critical role in informing senior management’s risk‑taking decisions, guiding business expansion, and managing the portfolio through periods of market volatility. The team engages extensively with senior leadership and key stakeholders, including Credit Risk, regulators, borrowers, and co‑lenders.

The Corporate Credit Portfolio Management Head will be responsible for the global corporate lending financing portfolio consisting of facilities backed by broadly syndicated and private credit first lien, unitranche, recurring revenue and other corporate loans in multiple industries and jurisdictions.

This is a senior, fast‑paced leadership role with direct responsibility for shaping portfolio risk strategy across a large, complex global platform and requires strong judgment, proven leadership, and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and managing risk across the global Corporate Credit platform

  • Evaluating new transactions and facility amendments and assessing asset quality, structure, documentation and counterparty risk

  • Driving development of risk analytics, stress testing and reporting frameworks to enhance decision-making

  • Informing business strategy and capital allocation decisions through market intelligence, asset‑level research, and forward‑looking risk analysis

  • Representing the platform in interactions with regulators, borrowers, co‑lenders, and internal governance forums

  • Performing periodic business reviews and providing reporting to FSL senior leadership as well as business partners in Credit Risk and Capital Markets

  • Enhancing automation and scalability of portfolio monitoring processes

  • Lead a global team of asset managers. Responsible for training, direction and performance management

  • Fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and collaboration

Candidate skills and qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with corporate credit underwriting and risk management, with direct exposure to facility financing of corporate loans (both broadly syndicated and private credit)

  • Deep understanding of corporate credit markets, financing structures, and risk management principles

  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills

  • Excellent analytical and business problem solving skills

  • Degree from competitive undergraduate / graduate program

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $225,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment for Executive Director. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
