Job Description
OakNorth is a founder-led, high-growth company scaling rapidly in the US. We’re looking for a senior Corporate Development leader to partner directly with our CEO & Co-Founder to shape strategy, raise capital, and drive the next phase of expansion across the US and UK.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the centre of the business, suited to someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives on momentum. You’ll lead M&A and strategic transactions, support capital raising, and own investor engagement working closely with the founder CEO, leadership team and Board on the decisions that will define the company’s trajectory.
We’re seeking someone from top-tier investment banking, investing, corporate development or investor relations who brings strong execution, sound judgment, and a clear bias to action. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-moving, founder-led, entrepreneurial environment with real ownership, visibility and influence. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside the founders and help shape the company’s next phase of growth.
What You’ll Drive
- Corporate Strategy & Development
- Partner with the Executive team to develop and execute OakNorth’s corporate strategy.
- Evaluate strategic initiatives including market entry, platform expansion, partnerships, and technology-led growth.
- Lead detailed financial analysis, valuation analysis, and scenario planning to support Board-level decision-making.
- Identify acquisition opportunities which align with strategic objectives
- Investor Relations & Capital Markets
- Lead OakNorth’s investor relations strategy and serve as a key point of contact for existing and prospective investors.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential investors.
- Prepare and present investor materials including pitch decks, quarterly updates, financial disclosures, and Q&A packs.
- Lead processes for equity, raises, working closely with senior leadership and external advisors.
- M&A and Strategic Transactions
- Lead end-to-end execution of M&A and strategic transactions, from origination through close and integration.
- Identify and assess acquisition, investment, and partnership opportunities, particularly within the US market.
- Manage all aspects of due diligence across financial, regulatory, operational, and technology workstreams.
- Lead valuation, deal structuring, and negotiations alongside Legal, Finance, and external advisors.
- Drive post-transaction integration planning and synergy realisation
What You Bring
- 8 –15+ years of relevant experience in top-tier investment banking, investing, corporate development, or investor relations, ideally with hands-on involvement in M&A, capital raising and strategic transactions
- Deep experience in transaction execution, valuation, and complex financial modelling.
- Exposure to capital markets transactions (equity and/or debt).
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to operate credibly at Board and C-suite level.
- Experience operating in/covering banks, fintech, private credit, or asset managers is a strong advantage.
Benefits & Perks
- 401k plan with Principal (ON match up to 4%)
- Medical Care (managed through Insperity) - employees can add their family to their plan if needed
- Dental & Vision bundle
- Insperity Health Savings Account Program - this is a tax-advantaged employee benefit which can help manage health care costs by allowing employees to set aside some of their current earnings on a pretax basis for reimbursement of qualified health care expenses during the plan year
