We are seeking a strategic, influential, and agile senior executive to serve as our Head of Marketing/Sales Spending & Procurement Impact. This leader will bring exceptional executive presence, sophisticated storytelling abilities, and a proven track record of leading through complexity and conflict. As a key member of our Procurement organization, you will shape enterprise‑level decisions and generate sustained impact across the U.S. and global business.
About the Role
In this role, you will oversee global marketing, sales, digital, media, and commercial spending, maximizing enterprise value through category management, sourcing excellence, and supplier partnerships. You will serve as the primary strategic procurement partner to the U.S. organization-providing clarity, alignment, and persuasive narrative leadership at the most senior levels.
You will regularly interact with the USA Leadership Team as well as top global leaders across commercial and marketing functions in other countries, influencing decisions tied directly to marketing and selling spending.
Who You'll Work With
You will partner closely with senior leaders across Commercial, Medical, Finance, and Global Marketing organizations. As a member of the U.S. Leadership Team, you will use executive‑ready communication and story‑driven insights to:
- Shape strategic decisions
- Influence enterprise‑level stakeholders
- Navigate complex and conflicting priorities
- Drive alignment across functions and markets
What You'll Do
- Lead enterprise category strategy for marketing, sales, digital, media, and agency spending and partnerships
- Drive competitiveness, operational efficiency, and improved marketing return on spending
- Serve as the primary procurement voice on the U.S. Leadership Team
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders-using data‑driven insights and compelling narratives to guide decisions
- Lead supplier relationship management, innovation pipelines, and value creation initiatives
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements
- Accelerate digital transformation within marketing and sales spending categories
- Manage cross‑functional conflict constructively to build enterprise alignment
- Inspire, coach, and develop high‑performing teams through confident, transparent, and empathetic leadership
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in business, marketing, or a related discipline
- 15+ years of experience in procurement, marketing, commercial operations, or similar fields
- Experience supporting or managing operations within the U.S. commercial business environment
- Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional initiatives and driving organizational or process change
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic and business plans
- Demonstrated success in leading transformation initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes
- Ability to influence senior‑level stakeholders through clear, concise, and executive‑ready communication
- Ability to turn complex business issues into structured, compelling narratives that support decision‑making
- Strong conflict‑management capabilities and the ability to foster alignment across diverse groups
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading large‑scale transformation initiatives
- Strong digital, analytics, and data fluency
- Experience with supplier relationship management and innovation acceleration
- Recognized for strong critical thinking and an enterprise‑first mindset
- Track record of improving marketing and sales return on spending
- Known for elevating organizational clarity through powerful communication and narrative leadership
