Job Description

Asset Management Technology is a dynamic delivery focused organization dedicated to enabling technology outcomes for our business partners in Columbia Threadneedle Investments. As part of our team, you will be working with a talented group of people where you will be valued and rewarded for your skills and have the opportunity to develop yourself further.

Co-located with our team and business partners in Boston you will take responsibility for the delivery of technology solutions. To be successful you will need to be a technologist with a deep understanding of how to deliver complex solutions and drive to successful outcomes.

In-Office Collaboration

We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. By fostering a culture of face-to-face collaboration, idea sharing, productivity and personal connection, we deliver for our stakeholders - clients, advisors, employees and shareholders. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to translate desired business outcomes into actionable technical programs

  • Partner with business teams across investments, distribution, investment operations, data and business change to scope and deliver change

  • Guide business partners in creating actionable requirements for business solutions

  • Work in a matrix managed structure with the technology product teams to execute on projects

  • Oversee the overall portfolio of technical projects from a risk management, technical execution, project financials and engineering enablement perspective

  • Review systems designs and technology solutions with a program risk mitigation lens identifying architectural risks, technical blockers, etc., that might inhibit project execution

  • Ensure that projects are executed and managed in line with project management standards, and aligned with technology product roadmaps so that the overall technology stack evolves in line with the agreed strategy

  • Provide transparent communication on program progress to stakeholders (up to C-suite level)

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the asset management business

  • Expertise and experience in software engineering and the software development lifecycle. This role requires a superior understanding of how technology works, is developed and maintained

  • Excellence in project, program and portfolio management practices with proven ability to deliver complex programs and drive results

  • Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to influence and drive change in a matrix managed organization

  • Recognized industry qualifications program and project management methodologies

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $197,500 - $271,500 / year. Base salaries are determined in part based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that support all aspects of your health and well-being.
