- Oversee the implementation and operation of the Head Start/Early Head Start program in accordance with federal regulations and guidelines.
- Develop and implement strategic plans that meet the goals and objectives of the program.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
- Manage the program budget and financial activities, including forecasting, reporting, and auditing.
- Establish and maintain relationships with government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Lead and supervise a team of professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Coordinate with staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and implement changes as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
- Advocate for the program and its participants in the community and with policymakers.
- Ensure the program maintains a strong presence in the community through effective communication and outreach efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or University with a major in Business Administration, Education, Public Administration, Psychology, or related field and four years. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role in an early childhood education setting.
- In-depth knowledge of Head Start and Early Head Start federal regulations and guidelines.
- Experience in community-based planning and working with government agencies.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team of professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to the mission of Head Start and Early Head Start programs and to serving low-income children and families.
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain clearance for working with children.
