Job Description

Strong Start Early Care & Education | Wilton, CT

Strong Start Early Care & Education is seeking an experienced and passionate Toddler Head Teacher to join our growing program in Wilton. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for an early childhood professional serving the Danbury, Ridgefield, Wilton, and Norwalk area who is committed to creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children.

Compensation

  • Starting at $24/hour, based on experience, education, and role fit

What You'll Do

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Connecticut Early Learning Standards
  • Create and maintain a consistent, engaging daily classroom schedule
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
  • Lead and support Assistant Teachers within the toddler classroom
  • Support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and creative development
  • Observe, assess, and document children's growth and progress
  • Use positive guidance strategies to support behavior and social skills
  • Build strong relationships with families through daily communication and conferences
  • Encourage positive peer interactions and a strong classroom community
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with center policies, state licensing regulations, and NAEYC standards

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare or daycare setting
  • Strong knowledge of toddler development and early childhood best practices
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach to teaching
  • A collaborative mindset and positive attitude
