Job Description

Anticipated Start: Immediately, Fall 2026

Primary Purpose:Instruction in assigned Health and Physical Education classes for the Fall 2026 semester. All classes are in-person on the Jackson campus in Sylva, NC.

Assignment:• Daytime class at Jackson campus• Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with course outlines and published course schedule.• Collaborate with Arts and Sciences colleagues and administrators in program planning, assessment, and continuous improvement processes.• Maintain accurate records for each course taught.• Assist in student retention.• Participate in college events and activities.• Cooperate in scheduled student evaluations of instructor and space.• Keep regular posted office hours in accordance with college policy.• Submit all college reports in an accurate timely fashion.• Attend instructor and departmental meetings as scheduled.• Be responsible for professional development and maintaining professional competence.• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Required: Master's degree in Health and Wellness or Physical Education or closely related discipline with 18 graduate hours in Health and Wellness or PEPreferred: College teaching experience.

Knowledge and Skills:Ability to use computers and software to support instruction, including course management
