Working closely with plant leadership and the Safety & Health Manager, you will help identify workplace hazards, investigate incidents, support safety training and ensure employees are working in accordance with company and regulatory safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support employee safety training and promote an accident-free work environment.
  • Collect and analyze inspection and safety data to identify recurring issues and opportunities for injury prevention.
  • Participate in accident and incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action development.
  • Assist with MSHA inspections and review citations and compliance issues.
  • Monitor changes to safety and health regulations and help implement programs necessary to maintain compliance.
  • Provide safety support and oversight when the Safety & Health Manager is unavailable.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development related to workplace safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health or a related field preferred.
1–2 years of safety experience in mining, cement, aggregates, manufacturing, heavy industry or a similar environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and health regulations; MSHA knowledge or experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and proactively address unsafe conditions or work practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors and plant leadership.
  • Ability to conduct safety training for individuals and groups.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, presentation and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • A genuine interest in building a career in workplace health and safety.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

Our client offers strong leadership, professional development and opportunities for career advancement within a major industrial organization. This role provides valuable hands-on exposure to MSHA compliance, safety investigations, employee training and plant operations.
