Job Description
Health & Safety Manager
Location: Everett, WA (50% Travel)
Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 per year (plus bonus potential)
The Mission
As the Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, you are the primary guardian of our most valuable assets: our people. You won’t just be monitoring compliance; you will be the architect of a world-class safety culture. Reporting to the General Manager with a functional line to Corporate Safety, you will lead the charge in developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental and safety programs that exceed state and federal standards.
Key Impact Areas
Safety Leadership: Design and execute safety training, driver strategies, and "safety talks" for all regional team members.
Strategic Oversight: Manage and improve EHS management systems (ISO 45001, 14001) across multiple offices and job sites.
Risk Mitigation: Conduct audits and investigations to identify root causes, implementing corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
People Support: Manage the Worker’s Compensation program and collaborate with HR to support injured workers through recovery and return-to-work phases.
Fleet Safety: Utilize telematics and transportation technology (Motive, Lytx) to identify and coach unsafe driving behaviors.
Who You Are
A Self-Starter: You work independently, manage multiple priorities with ease, and don't wait for a checklist to see what needs to be done.
An Influencer: You have a proven ability to communicate across all levels—from field technicians to corporate executives—to improve safety behaviors.
A Problem Solver: You bring a mix of creativity and practicality to EHS challenges, ensuring safety protocols actually work in the real world.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5–7 years of progressive experience in EHS with deep knowledge of OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations.
Certification: Active EHS certification required (e.g., CSP or ASP).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office and experience with ISO 45001/14001 management systems.
Flexibility: Ability to travel up to 50% to job sites and work irregular hours/weekends when necessary to support the team.
