Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center is one of the largest community health centers in Massachusetts serving Worcester, Framingham, Milford, and the surrounding communities. We are a thriving and growing organization, and our team is expanding across sites to support this growth.
We are currently hiring a Health Records Specialist I based in Framingham. The Specialist role will be responsible for managing accurate and timely intake, review, and filing of patient documents in the EHR. Ensures proper scanning, indexing, and error correction, supports audits, and maintains compliance with documentation protocols. Safeguards the integrity and accessibility of health records while upholding performance standards, SOPs, privacy regulations, and culturally and linguistically appropriate service.

Essential Functions:
- Receipt, track, and logging of Incoming Documents
- Review document for filing accuracy
- Scanning and indexing into EHR
- Manage and filing of records per current Federal and State statues, regulations, and company policies and procedures
- Batch error identification and corrections
- Participation in audit review of bad batches
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
RHIA or CEHRS certification (must be obtained within 18 months)
2+ years' experience in medical records, health information management, or related healthcare setting
Proficient in English; additional languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese) preferred
Skilled with EHR systems, document scanning, and indexing software
Detail-oriented with accurate data entry and document handling
Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations
Strong organizational and time management skills
Effective communicator and team player in fast-paced environments
