The San Diego, CA office of a full-service Am Law 100 firm, is actively seeking an attorney to join its Healthcare & Long-Term Care Litigation Practice Group.
The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in California and have at least one (1) to seven (7) years of experience representing healthcare providers in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings. Experience defending and litigating medical malpractice lawsuits is preferred.
The firm represents healthcare providers, including hospitals, physicians, nurses, technicians, therapists, mental healthcare counselors, mental health facilities, pharmacists, dentists, podiatrists, clinics, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and other industry representatives in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings. The firm handles medical malpractice actions in numerous areas, including obstetrics, geriatrics, emergency medicine, surgery, cardiology, general practice, pulmonary medicine, nursing, orthopedics, neurology, oncology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, genetics testing, radiology, dentistry and podiatry. Our healthcare practice groups consists of more than 200 attorneys, making us one of the largest healthcare practices in the country. A subset of our health care practice group specializes in representation of long-term care facilities in elder abuse litigation, among the fastest-growing areas of health care law.
Qualified candidates will be comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting, and arguing motions in open court, interviewing witnesses, taking and defending depositions, and preparing cases for trial. Candidates must have strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation: $135,000-$180,000 DOE and a range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401k with employer match.
