Job Description

Healthcare Compliance Consultant

Total Medical Compliance — a Scientific Safety Alliance company

Employment type: Full-time Compensation: $36,000 annually

About Us

Total Medical Compliance (TMC) helps medical and dental practices stay ahead of the regulations that protect their patients and their teams. For practices that don't have a full-time compliance department, we are their compliance department — on site, in person, and in their corner.

TMC is part of Scientific Safety Alliance (SSA), an Inc. 5000 platform of 25+ businesses delivering cleanroom certification, laboratory services, and regulatory compliance support across the country. Joining TMC means the close-knit team and direct client relationships of a specialized consulting practice, backed by the resources, stability, and career pathways of a national organization.

The Role

The Healthcare Compliance Consultant provides on-site compliance consulting, education, assessments, and ongoing support to medical and dental practices. You'll help clients understand and maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, Infection Control, and applicable federal and state regulatory requirements.

This is a field-based role. You'll own a territory, manage your own schedule, and build the kind of long-term client relationships where practices call you first when a question comes up. If you like autonomy, variety, and being the person in the room who makes a complicated topic feel manageable, this role will suit you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control consulting, education, and training.
  • Conduct OSHA and HIPAA facility audits and HIPAA Security Risk Analyses, and provide guidance for corrective action.
  • Review compliance manuals, policies, procedures, required documentation, and regulatory updates with clients.
  • Educate and support Safety Officers and Privacy/Security Officers regarding their compliance responsibilities.
  • Serve as an ongoing compliance resource while developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Develop and grow the assigned territory by building client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and supporting client retention and expansion of TMC services.
  • Manage an assigned territory, client schedule, documentation, and required follow-up.
  • Complete and submit required audits, reports, training documentation, and client records accurately and within established timelines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with TMC compliance specialists, client services, management, and other internal team members.
  • Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory and maintain reliable transportation necessary to fulfill field-based responsibilities.
  • Represent Total Medical Compliance professionally and provide exceptional client service.

What You Bring

Required

  • Experience in healthcare compliance, infection control, clinical operations, practice management, occupational safety, or a closely related field.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control requirements as they apply to medical or dental practices.
  • Confident presentation and training skills — you can hold a room of clinical staff and make regulatory content land.
  • Strong writing and documentation skills, with the accuracy and timeliness that audit reporting demands.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a territory calendar, and stay organized without day-to-day supervision.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.

Preferred

  • Clinical or practice background (RN, LPN, RDH, CDA, medical assistant, practice administrator) or prior compliance consulting experience.
  • Compliance credentials such as CHC, CHPC, CHSP, CIC, or equivalent.
  • Experience conducting audits, risk analyses, or regulatory assessments.
  • Comfort with a consultative approach to growing an existing book of business.

Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your family:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Paid time off plus company-recognized paid holidays
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage
  • Employee assistance program
