Healthcare Controller A growing healthcare services organization is seeking a HealthcareController to lead the accounting function and partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and operational decision-making. This is an onsite direct hire opportunity.Company Profile: Closed Door Specialty PharmacyHealthcare Controller Role: The Healthcare Controller will oversee financial reporting, treasury functions, payroll, and core accounting operations for a mid-sized organization with approximately $40M+ in annual revenue and high monthly transaction volume. The Controller will supervise a small team while remaining hands-on in the day-to-day accounting processes. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, prior controller or assistant controller experience, and the ability to think strategically while operating in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Oversee preparation of monthly financial statements and financial packages for leadership Manage the general ledger, account reconciliations, and month-end close process Ensure accuracy of accounts payable, treasury activities, and related accounting functions Oversee payroll and benefits administration in partnership with internal teams Maintain fixed asset schedules and ensure proper accounting treatment Prepare and review state tax filings including sales and property taxes Support inventory accounting and controls as applicable Coordinate annual audit activities and work with external accounting partners Provide financial insights and analysis to executive leadership Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning Evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities for operational improvement Support leadership with pricing analysis and financial modeling Lead and mentor accounting staff responsible for AP and core accounting functions Improve internal processes and workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy Partner cross-functionally with operations and billing teamsHealthcare Controller Background Profile: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required CPA preferred but not required 8+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller Experience managing full-cycle accounting and financial reporting Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred Experience working with high transaction volumes Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Sage experience a plus) Strong Excel and financial reporting skills Comfortable working with payroll systems and system integrations Mid-sized healthcare services organization Collaborative leadership team Opportunity to have a direct impact on financial operations and strategic decision-making Hands-on leadership role with visibility to executive leadershipFeatures and Benefits: Monday–Friday, flexible schedule No weekends or on-call responsibilities Collaborative, team-focused culture with a high degree of autonomy Medical Insurance 401K with match and 100% vested from the beginning Generous 3 weeks PTO plus holidays
