Healthcare Custodian Technician

Position Overview:

Join our team as a Healthcare Custodian Technician and become an integral part of maintaining a safe and hygienic environment within our hospital facility. Your dedication to cleanliness and attention to detail will contribute to the well-being of patients, visitors, and staff alike.

Location: 36 Lively Oaks Road, Lively VA

Shift: Monday- Friday: 6:00pm- 8:00pm

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming in designated areas.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms to ensure a high standard of hygiene.
• Maintain cleanliness in lounges, waiting rooms, lobbies, and other public areas.
• Clean and sanitize offices, conference rooms, and corridors regularly.
• Ensure windows and glass surfaces are streak-free and clear.
• Pay special attention to high-touch surfaces to prevent the spread of germs.
• Empty and dispose of trash according to established procedures.
• Clean and sanitize exam rooms, nursing stations, labs, pharmacies, and clinics.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, reporting shortages as needed.
• Follow protocols for handling and disposing of biohazardous materials.
• Report maintenance issues or repair needs promptly.
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with staff and departments to maintain an efficient working environment.

Qualifications:

• Preferred Experience: Previous janitorial or custodial work, particularly in healthcare sanitation.
• Ideal Experience: 1-2 years of janitorial or custodial experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning and disinfection techniques.
• Understanding of infection control practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Physical fitness for demanding tasks and ability to lift 50lbs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
• Strong active listening skills to follow safety protocols accurately.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Dependable and punctual with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Requirements:

• Compliance with mandatory influenza vaccination policy.
• Documentation of current influenza vaccination is required for all candidates.
