Seasonal Reimbursement Specialist – Healthcare / Patient Services

Location: Remote – Must Reside in North Carolina or South CarolinaPay: $18.00/hourSchedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per WeekStart Date: December 2026Duration: Seasonal Assignment through approximately the end of February 2027Equipment Pickup: REQUIRED in Charlotte, NC during the first week of December

About the Opportunity

We are hiring Seasonal Reimbursement Specialists to support a large-scale annual healthcare benefits and insurance reverification program. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in healthcare customer service, benefits verification, insurance, reimbursement, patient access, pharmacy services, or high-volume call center environments.

This is a 100% remote/work-from-home position after equipment pickup, supporting patients with insurance and benefit verification related to prescribed therapies.

IMPORTANT LOCATION & EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENT

Candidates must currently reside in North Carolina or South Carolina.

All selected candidates will be required to pick up their company-provided equipment IN PERSON in Charlotte, NC during the first week of December 2026. Equipment cannot be shipped. Candidates must be able to travel to Charlotte for their scheduled pickup date in order to be considered.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct insurance and benefits verification for patients receiving prescribed therapies.
  • Contact insurance companies and other payers to confirm eligibility, coverage, benefits, and reimbursement information.
  • Review and accurately document patient insurance and benefits information within internal systems.
  • Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, pharmacies, payers, and internal teams regarding coverage and benefit information.
  • Research and resolve missing, incomplete, or conflicting insurance information.
  • Make outbound calls and handle inbound communication as needed to complete benefit investigations.
  • Accurately document all interactions and case activity while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Follow established workflows, quality standards, productivity expectations, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Escalate complex reimbursement or coverage issues to the appropriate team members.
  • Work collaboratively within a fast-paced, high-volume patient services environment.

Training & Schedule

Training will take place during December 2026 and requires 100% attendance.

Following training, team members must be available to work an assigned 8-hour shift between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday.

Candidates must be flexible regarding their assigned shift during the peak annual reverification season.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous healthcare, insurance, pharmacy, reimbursement, benefits verification, patient access, or medical customer service experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience communicating with insurance companies, healthcare providers, pharmacies, or patients is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and professional communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, metrics-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry/documentation skills.
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems while communicating by phone.
  • Strong research, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to complete the full seasonal assignment.
  • Ability to work independently and successfully in a remote environment.
  • Must reside in North Carolina or South Carolina.
  • Must be able to pick up equipment in person in Charlotte, NC during the first week of December.
