Job Description
We are seeking an Accountant for an initial 6-month contract in Irwindale, CA. This position comes with the likeliness of an extension or a direct offer.
Pay: $55.21/hour
Shift: 8:00am-4:30pm PST, Monday-Friday

Under general supervision, performs complex budgeting and accounting functions; conducts financial, statistical, and analytical studies; prepares and assists in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and claims for reimbursement according to prescribed guidelines; performs related duties as required.
Daily Responsibilities include the following:
- Perform day to day accounting tasks and support month-end close processes.
- Conduct cash-related analysis, including cash reconciliations and reviewing requirements (reqs).
- Utilize Excel extensively, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data validation.
- Assist with ongoing audit preparation, acting in a support and administrative capacity to gather documentation, ensure accuracy, and maintain audit readiness.
- Ensure accuracy across large volumes of data and multiple workflows.
- Interact professionally with team members across departments and varying levels of seniority.Position Qualifications:
- Recent experience with performing month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, etc.
- 5-15 years of experience primarily performing accounting related tasks
- Advanced Excel skills: VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, reporting, and data manipulation.
- Critical thinking applied to financial workflows, reconciliations, and process gaps.
- Process improvement mindset, with initiative to recommend and implement better ways of working.
- Ability to manage stress and maintain accuracy with many moving parts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with a wide range of individuals (e.g., physicians, leadership, accounting team).
- Nice-to-Have - Experience with Sage 500 or similar ERP systems, and prior exposure to medical group or healthcare accounting (not required).
