Job Description

Healthcare Foundations Instructor (Anatomy & Medical Science)

Location: Denver, CO | Campus: On-Site

Hiring Range: $23.73 – $29.66 per hour

Type:Full-Time DaysThe Career Pivot You’ve Been Looking For

Are you an experienced healthcare professional (MA, EMT, CVT, or DA) ready to trade the high-stress clinical floor for a stable, impactful role in education? At Pima Medical Institute, we value your real-world expertise. As a Healthcare Foundations Instructor, you are the architect of a student's career, teaching the essential anatomy, physiology, and professional skills that transform beginners into medical professionals.

No teaching experience? No problem. If you have the medical background, we provide a comprehensive "Train the Trainer" program to help you become an elite educator.

The Foundations Curriculum

You will guide students through the critical "building blocks" required for any medical specialty:

  • Medical Science Mastery: Leading deep dives into Anatomy, Physiology, and the "language of medicine" (Medical Terminology).
  • The Success Mindset: Teaching the study habits, math fundamentals, and computer literacy that ensure students don't just start, but graduate.
  • Life-Saving Skills: Certifying students in CPR and First Aid—skills you already use every day.

Essential Functions

  • Instructional Delivery: Deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to various learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic).
  • Student Mentorship: Advise students on academic progress and professional conduct during regular office hours.
  • Evaluation: Grade coursework and assessments within a 72-hour window to provide timely feedback.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the evolution of course materials, syllabi, and classroom handouts.
  • Professional Engagement: Participate in faculty meetings, advisory boards, and campus graduations.

Who You Are

  • A Natural Mentor: You’re the person in the clinic everyone goes to when they have a question.
  • A Lifelong Learner: You love medical science and enjoy staying current on terminology and healthcare trends.
  • An Engaging Speaker: You can take a complex topic—like the cardiovascular system—and explain it so a first-semester student truly understands it.
  • Meticulous: You understand that grading and attendance tracking are the "documentation" of the education world.

Minimum Requirements

  • Clinical Experience: At least three (3) years of practical work experience in a medical setting.
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited medical program (MA, Nursing, Allied Health, Dental, etc.) OR an additional 3 years of related occupational experience.
  • Subject Mastery: Strong, demonstrated knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology.
  • Technical Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint is essential for lectures) and Google Workspace.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Hourly Pay: $23.73 – $29.66 per hour.
  • Ownership: Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)—become a partial owner of the company!
  • Retirement: 401(k) with a 10% Employer Match.
  • Colorado Protections: Includes Colorado Paid Sick/Leave (PSL) and Public Health Emergency leave.
  • Support: Tuition reimbursement and dedicated professional development.
