Heavy Civil Estimator

Estimator - Heavy Civil ConstructionLocation: WV / OHA well-established heavy civil contractor with decades of experience delivering infrastructure projects—including highways, roads, bridges, drilled caissons, rock excavation, site work, slope stabilization, and underground utilities—is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its preconstruction team. The company is known for its commitment to safety, quality, and long-term client relationships.

This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for highway and road construction, paving, site development, and underground utility projects, while supporting continued growth and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities • Prepare detailed estimates for heavy civil projects including highways, paving, site work, and underground utilities

• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents; perform quantity take-offs

• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing

• Collaborate with project teams on pricing strategies and value engineering

• Maintain cost data, unit pricing, and vendor relationships

• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in heavy/highway construction

Strong knowledge of paving, earthwork, site work, and underground utilities

• Proficiency with estimating and take-off software

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills

Preferred

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field

• Experience with DOT and public bid projects
