Job Title: Heavy Equipment MechanicLocation: Etowah, Tennessee*Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PMCompensation: $17/hr+ based on prior experience*Some travel will be required and will be company-paid and compensated accordinglyCompany Overview: Haren Construction Company, Inc. specializes in water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and commercial and industrial types of construction.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy construction equipment. This role ensures that equipment operates safely and efficiently to meet the demands of water and wastewater construction sites.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on heavy construction equipment, including tasks such as oil and filter changes, fluid checks, lubrication and cooling maintenance, replacing and/or repairing defective components, and troubleshooting any mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Perform equipment inspections and mechanical testing, focusing on mechanical integrity, wear parts, and safety systems.
- Maintain proper inventory of tools, parts, and consumables required for maintenance and repairs.
- Coordinate with procurement and part suppliers to order replacements.
- Complete and document work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment service records.
- Collaborate with project superintendents, field supervisors, and equipment operators to prioritize the repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Work in accordance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and confined space awareness.
- This role is an on-site, outdoors position that requires work in all types of weather conditions.
- This position performs strenuous physical activities for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions.
- This position must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs.
- This role will be required to stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above the shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.
- This role is occasionally required to work at elevated heights.
- This role will require occasional travel.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Class B CDL preferred but not required
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification
- Manufacturer or dealer training on heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain components.
- Basic computer and mobile device skills for completing digital work orders and maintenance logs.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience operating or repairing heavy construction equipment.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Following 58 days of full-time employment, you may be eligible for benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision

- After 6 months+ of continuous employment, paid vacation is offered
- Paid holidays
- Travel/Transportation/Lodging compensated
- Company dispatch vehicle will be provided for required travel
