Job Description
Heavy Diesel Mechanic
Repairs and maintains heavy construction equipment according to company quality and safety standards.
Hours: 7:30am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri
Pay: $25-$30 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair of large heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, etc. according to company standards.
- Must be willing and able to work on vehicles at any location that it is disabled (not be in a shop).
- Must be willing and able to work in inclement weather or any weather conditions.
- Performs main component changes on engines, pumps, transmission, etc.
- Must be able to work on pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, etc.
- Must have own hand tools and power tools.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Troubleshooting electronic controls for various equipment.
- Promote operations in a safe, efficient and professional manner.
- Comply with company’s safety training and procedures.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Able to lift 65 lbs from floor to shoulder level occasionally.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 100 lbs.
- Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, carrying, and reaching or handling with arms, hands and fingers.
- Requires frequent repetitive movements, i.e. hammering, turning wrenches, or used screwdrivers.
