Compensation Data

• Base Salary: $28 -$36.00 per hour
• Eligible for Annual Bonus

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Intermodal, you'll handle troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance on Kalmar and third-party equipment, ensuring peak performance through inspections and routine upkeep. You'll provide exceptional customer service with detailed reports, provide technical advice, and make a real impact while maintaining a safe work environment.

What are your key responsibilities:

• Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Electronics diagnosis & repair of intermodal cargo handling equipment (Kalmar and other brands); regular preventative maintenance, as scheduled; evaluate and assist with warranty claims;
• Customer Communication: Communicate with customers regarding the diagnosis and repair problems experienced in the field; conduct product training for the customer; maintain high level of customer satisfaction
• Documentation: complete detailed documentation (reports of labor, work orders, warranty documentation, inspections and maintenance logs)
• Collaboration: work with Product Engineering to develop solutions for operational problems in the field; communicate customer expectations, requirements and requests to the Sales, Product Engineering and Parts teams

What you bring to the role:

• Qualifications: Technical diploma/certificate preferred; high school diploma or GED required; must have valid driver's license

• Technical Expertise: Proven skills in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and electronics and programmable logic controllers (PLC's, preferably Siemens) for heavy equipment; ability to read/understand blueprints/schematics; able to work comfortably/safely at elevated heights; ability to use hand, air & electric hand tools;

• Preference will be given Veterans and candidates with maintenance/repair experience on the following brands of heavy equipment: Kalmar, Taylor, MiJack and/or Remprex
