Job Description
Sparta Networking is supporting a leading construction company in hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure safe operation, minimize downtime, and support overall jobsite productivity in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, and other machinery
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Coordinate with operators and supervisors to address equipment concerns
- Maintain accurate service records and complete repair documentation
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA and safety standards
Qualifications
- Experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, engines, and electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment efficiently
- Experience in construction or industrial environments preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when needed
Work Environment
- Physically demanding role, including lifting up to 60 lbs
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, dirt, and heavy equipment
- Use of PPE required at all times
