Material Handler / Receiver Must-Have Requirements
- Experience handling industrial pipe, fittings, and flanges a must
- Previous receiving, warehouse, or material handling experience in a manufacturing or pipe supply environment
- Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, and material specifications
- Forklift and overhead crane experience a must
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work safely in an industrial environment
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Material Handler / Receiver Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Material Handler / Receiver to support manufacturing and production operations by receiving, inspecting, organizing, and staging industrial piping materials. The ideal candidate will have experience working with pipe, fittings, and flanges and understand the importance of accurate material handling in a manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring production teams receive the correct materials while maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse.
Material Handler / Receiver Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Receiving & Inventory
- Receive incoming shipments of pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, and related materials
- Verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, quantity, and specification accuracy
- Label, organize, and stock materials in designated warehouse locations
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies
Material Handling
- Pull, stage, and issue materials for production and customer orders
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment
- Load and unload trucks while following proper material handling procedures
- Maintain material traceability and ensure proper storage of inventory
Warehouse Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories
- Work closely with purchasing, production, and shipping departments to ensure material availability
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment
Material Handler / Receiver Additional Qualifications
- Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, pipe, fittings, flanges, and industrial materials preferred
- Knowledge of material identification, pipe sizes, and flange types
- Experience using ERP systems, inventory software, or handheld scanners
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
