Heavy Transport Coordinator Military Logistics - West Coast Base to East Coast Base Full-time, Long-Haul (OTR), Temporary Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and disciplined CDL-A Driver to manage the cross-country logistical transfer of critical assets between West Coast and East Coast Military Installations. This role involves the safe transport of a diverse manifest government material. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in long-haul operations, secure cargo management, and navigating the protocols of high-security Federal Facilities. Key Responsibilities

• Asset Transport & Delivery: Safely operate heavy trucks and tractor-trailers (including flatbeds and lowboys) to move vehicles, machinery, and warehouse inventory across state lines.
• Load Securement: Expertly secure diverse cargo using chains, binders, straps, and blocking/bracing to prevent shifting or damage during transit, adhering to FMCSA and military standards.
• Route Planning: Utilize GPS and military-specific navigation tools to plan optimal cross-country routes, accounting for oversized load restrictions, weight limits, and security protocols.
• Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct mandatory pre-trip, mid-trip, and post-trip Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS). Report mechanical issues immediately and perform minor roadside repairs as needed.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain rigorous digital logs (ELD), trip tickets, and fuel records in full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations.
• Security Protocol: Adhere to strict security measures for accessing military bases, including identity verification (REAL ID) and potentially transporting sensitive or high-value freight.

Qualifications & Requirements

• License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) with a clean driving record.
• Experience: 3 5 years of heavy haul or OTR experience; prior military or government contract logistics experience is highly preferred.
• Endorsements: HAZMAT endorsement is often required or preferred for warehouse supply transfers.
• Clearance/Access: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain/maintain a DoD favorable background check for base access.
• Physical Stamina: Full understanding of and able to handle long hours of driving and the physical demands of loading/unloading heavy equipment.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with military convoy procedures and DTR 4500.9-R (Defense Transportation Regulation).
• Experience with Department of Defense transportation management software.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and on-base logistics personnel.
