Job Description

Position Summary:

Vali Inc has an opportunity for a Heavy Truck Driver to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments, and customers places of business. Driver may also load or unload trucks with helpers. Loading rail cars will require setting out planks to drive from car to car and handling rail car binders to secure equipment to rail cars. Driver will be required to climb in and out of vehicles on the rail. Hooking up various types of military style trailers requiring long periods of standing and bending to get items ready to haul or stage. This role offers a challenging and dynamic work environment, requiring a skilled Heavy Truck Driver with a commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to operate a variety of equipment in different settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers to and from various establishments and customer locations.
  • Load and unload trucks with the assistance of helpers.
  • Handle military-style trailers, including hooking up and securing equipment.
  • Load rail cars, setting out planks and using rail car binders.
  • Operate various types of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including forklifts (4k to 30k capacity), backhoes, bulldozers, skid steers, etc.
  • Obtain and maintain a Class (A) Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Obtain a passenger endorsement for the CDL.
  • Obtain and maintain local base access.
  • Obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold.
  • Perform regular walking and standing duties.
  • Work overtime as required by the production schedule.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Possess and maintain a Class (A) Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Obtain and maintain a passenger endorsement on the CDL (nice to have but not required).
  • Ability to operate various types of MHE, including forklifts, backhoes, bulldozers, and skid steers.
  • Ability to climb in and out of vehicles on the rail.
  • Ability to handle rail car binders and set out planks for loading rail cars.
  • Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift as required by the job.
  • Flexibility to work overtime based on production schedule.
