Job Description
Do you want to make a meaningful difference in students' lives? Wayzata Public Schools is hiring Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students with academic, self-care, and social/behavioral needs, starting the 2026-27 school year.
What You'll Do:
- Implement assigned tasks in conjunction with students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs), under direction of the special education teacher
- Supervise vulnerable students and assist with academic, social, motor, and functional classroom activities
- Observe, document, and communicate student academic and social behavior data to teachers and supervisors
- Assist with mobility, self-help skills (feeding, dressing), toileting, and adaptive equipment
- Monitor halls, common areas, and transportation needs; accompany students to specialists
- Maintain strict student confidentiality and enforce school rules
Hours: 6.75 hrs/day Monday through FridayPay: Starting at $24.83/hourLocations: Wayzata High School
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required; must meet Minnesota Department of Education paraprofessional competency requirements
- Non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training may be required
- Experience with students who present emotional/behavioral challenges preferred
- Ability to lift, pull, and move a minimum of 50 lbs
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working across varied settings
- Computer skills preferred
