Job Description
Farber Hebrew Day School is a vibrant Modern Orthodox Zionist Jewish day school committed to academic excellence, character development, and Jewish values. Our faculty work in a collaborative, supportive environment where educators are empowered to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School Varsity Girls Basketball Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes during the November–February basketball season. The ideal candidate will be passionate about basketball, committed to student development, and able to create a positive, competitive, and team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:- Plan and conduct practices focused on skill development, teamwork, conditioning, and game preparation.
- Coach JV games and provide positive leadership from the sidelines.
- Teach basketball fundamentals, strategy, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
- Develop players' skills while supporting their academic and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, school staff, and the varsity coaching staff.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive team environment.
- Assist with team organization, equipment, and other basketball-related responsibilities as needed.
- Support the overall goals and philosophy of the school's athletic program.
Qualifications
- Previous basketball playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and strategy.
- Ability to work effectively with high school student-athletes.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to student-athlete development both on and off the court.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other members of the coaching staff.
- Ability to meet the scheduling demands of the basketball season.
Compensation
A $1,500 stipend will be provided for the November–February season.
