Job Description

Farber Hebrew Day School is a vibrant Modern Orthodox Zionist Jewish day school committed to academic excellence, character development, and Jewish values. Our faculty work in a collaborative, supportive environment where educators are empowered to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School Varsity Girls Basketball Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes during the November–February basketball season. The ideal candidate will be passionate about basketball, committed to student development, and able to create a positive, competitive, and team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

Plan and conduct practices focused on skill development, teamwork, conditioning, and game preparation.
Coach JV games and provide positive leadership from the sidelines.
Teach basketball fundamentals, strategy, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Develop players' skills while supporting their academic and personal growth.
Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, school staff, and the varsity coaching staff.
Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive team environment.
Assist with team organization, equipment, and other basketball-related responsibilities as needed.
Support the overall goals and philosophy of the school's athletic program.

Qualifications

Previous basketball playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and strategy.
Ability to work effectively with high school student-athletes.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Commitment to student-athlete development both on and off the court.
Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other members of the coaching staff.
Ability to meet the scheduling demands of the basketball season.

Compensation

A $1,500 stipend will be provided for the November–February season.
