Job Description
Position: High Tech Litigation Associate Status: Full time 40 hours a week Hours: Hybrid based on 9 to 5 hours Salary Range: $235.000 To $310,000 depending on qualifications and experience Washington DC Law Firm is seeking an experienced associate to join our litigation practice in Washington DC. About the organization: Our client is a leading intellectual property law firm in Washington, DC that powers and protects innovation. Our client is a diverse group of scientists, engineers, and litigators that represent individuals, businesses, and organizations across every imaginable industry, from major media companies and pharmaceutical companies to innovative start-ups. Their litigation practice is one of the country's premier courtroom teams, and they are at the forefront of intellectual property litigation involving cutting-edge technology including Client legal cases involving fair use of copyrighted material by AI models. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- The associate will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of intellectual property litigation matters concerning patents, trade secrets, copyrights, and trademarks, as well as post-grant proceedings at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, opinions, counseling, and transactions.
- This role is ideal for a candidate seeking to advance their career within an exciting and fast-paced high-tech litigation group.
- The ideal candidate will have two to five years of experience with intellectual property matters, including patent and/or copyright litigation.
- An undergraduate or advanced degree, or industry experience, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Mathematics, or Physics is required.
- Outstanding legal research and analytical abilities, excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong work ethic, a team player, and an interest in taking ownership of projects and increased levels of responsibilities for client matters are required.
- You must be admitted to the state bar in which you are practicing and will need to be admitted to the D.C. Bar.
- Registration to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office is preferred but not required.
- This position is generally performed in a professional office setting; 70% sitting, 20% standing, and 10% walking
- This position routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as laptops, computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, in a home office as well as an in-person office environment.
- Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds.
