Job Description
High Voltage Electrical Test Technician
Location: Franklin, WI 53132
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Thursday | 5:00 AM-3:30 PM
- Overtime available 2-3 Fridays per month
Pay: $27/hour
We're looking for a High Voltage Electrical Test Technician with hands-on experience testing medium and high-voltage electrical equipment. This role is ideal for someone with experience working on switchgear, transformers, substations, power distribution equipment, motor control systems, or industrial electrical equipment.
You'll perform electrical testing up to 70KV AC, troubleshoot electrical systems, and support the assembly and testing of power quality equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-voltage electrical testing on power distribution equipment, including:
- Partial Discharge Testing (50KV AC)
- Dielectric Testing (60KV-70KV 3-Phase AC)
- Timing Tests
- Calibration
- Low Voltage Testing
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues during assembly and testing.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Assemble electrical and mechanical components according to specifications.
- Use hand tools, torque tools, wiring equipment, and testing instruments.
- Verify products meet quality and safety standards before shipment.
- Follow all safety procedures while working around energized high-voltage equipment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing high-voltage electrical testing in manufacturing, utilities, power distribution, or industrial environments.
- Experience working with 5KV+ electrical systems and 3-phase power.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical equipment.
- Comfortable working with high-voltage testing equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical degree, electrical apprenticeship, military electrical experience, or trade school is preferred.
