Job Description

Job Title: Grossing Histotechnician

Job Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Schedule: Day shift, flexible

Qualifications:

Embedding and Microtomy*
1-3 years of grossing experience *
Strong reading, writing, communication and analytical skills

Key Responsibilities:

Select and submit representative tissue sections into cassettes*
Perform histology functions including tissue processing, embedding, and microtomy.*
Ensure proper specimen identification, labeling, and documentation*
Grossing of specimens*
Receive, examine, and gross surgical pathology specimens according to established protocols*
Maintain gross room organization, cleanliness, and instrument readiness*
Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards*
Communicate effectively with pathologists, PAs, and laboratory staff regarding specimen needs or discrepancies
