PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION OF JOB

Staging all required material to keep running Pak Right machines and supporting packers with scheduling orders and changeovers.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Works safely at all times following Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), safe work practice policies and procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Stages end board for cover forming operation, according to published schedule
  • Visually inspects endboard for defects before loading on Pak-Right unwind stand
  • Communicates with CVC  Operators and Packer order changes, shortage and machine downtime
  • Requests additional product from In-process if needed
  • Moves defective material to the quarantine area and notifies team lead
  • Signs off on order changeovers
  • Keeps Pak-Right lubrication reservoirs full (mineral oil)
  • Keeps case erectors full
  • Sets ups and troubleshoots vision system
  • Adjust/Aligns registration eye, splice detector, end board guide; clean mandrels; and align glue gun as needed
  • Empties discarded covers (all lines) throughout the shift into waste bins
  • Maintains department cleanliness to SQF (safe quality food) standards
  • Relieves packers as needed
  • Creates Mainsaver work orders as required
  • Back fills some team lead duties during breaks, lunches and meetings
  • Train and assists new packers in the department
  • Performs quarterly and annual clean ups (accumulators, over heads and trenches)
  • Carries out environmental compliance tasks, as appropriate to the position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSABILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibility

EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED preferred      

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • General understanding of safety rules, department procedures and standards.
  • Able to make decisions concerning quality, line clearance and production reporting with minimal assistance
  • Knowledge of equipment control panels-Pak-Rights, accumulators and conveying systems to support minor adjustments.
  • Ability to read/write in English; capable of acting on written or verbal instruction.
  • Ability to interpret shop order-quantity, flavor, customer and other pertinent data.
  • Ability to read measuring instruments accurately
  • Thorough knowledge of quality defects
  • Basic computer skills for use of systems: BPCS, TWI, Pi, Filemaker and NWA software, vision system
  • Posses mechanical aptitude abilities
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months of experience in the operation of industrial machinery (experience performing adjustments and repairs in a production environment preferred)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to identify product and quality defects and color variation using vision
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to push or pull up to 130 lbs. using pallet jacks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand/ walk up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to climb ladder frequently
  • Bend, turn and stoop frequently

ENVIRONMENT

Will spend 100%  (excluding breaks and lunch time) of time on the manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels and different ambient temperatures. Require the use of personal protective equipment including (but not limited to) hearing protection, safety glasses, arm sleeves, hair and beard net and steel toe shoes.
