Formerly known as VETSS (Veterinary Emergency Treatment and Specialty Services), our hospital has provided emergency services to the Charlottesville community for over 30 years. In 2018, as the landscape of veterinary care evolved, we began shifting towards urgent care and general practice services.

About Us
Hollymead Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, 4-doctor practice offering general practice and urgent care to the Charlottesville community. Formerly VETSS (Veterinary Emergency Treatment and Specialty Services), our hospital has proudly served the area for over 30 years. In 2018, we transitioned from emergency care to a focus on urgent and general veterinary services, evolving to meet the community’s needs.

The Role: Medical Director
This is a hybrid role combining clinical practice with leadership responsibilities. You’ll work primarily as a practicing veterinarian while helping guide the medical standards, mentoring newer doctors, and partnering with hospital leadership to drive team development.
