Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Delivery Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for the safe, timely, and compliant transport of infusion medications, supplies, and equipment to patient homes and clinical locations throughout designated service areas.
In addition to delivery responsibilities, this position plays an important role in daily pharmacy operations by assisting with medication and supply picking, assembling delivery materials, and preparing patient orders for distribution. The Pharmacy Delivery Technician also serves as backup support for sterile compounding and clean room activities as needed.

Essential Responsibilities
Delivery Operations
- Perform local and regional deliveries according to assigned routes and schedules
- Ensure deliveries are released only to approved individuals listed on the Signature Authority form
- Obtain accurate delivery confirmations and required documentation while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Transport medications in secure, non-porous, impermeable, and cleanable containers in accordance with USP standards
- Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers during delivery encounters
- Use RingCentral to send delivery notifications prior to departure and provide ETA follow-up calls while en route
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the delivery vehicle and promptly report any issues
Medication Picking, Supply Preparation & Warehouse Support
- Pick medications, IV supplies, and ancillary items accurately according to patient orders and delivery schedules
- Assemble and prepare delivery materials to ensure completeness and accuracy before dispatch
- Assist with supply gathering, kit preparation, and delivery staging
- Support inventory organization, restocking, and warehouse workflows between deliveries
- Assist with general pharmacy and warehouse upkeep, including cleaning workspaces and trash removal
Backup Compounding & Clean Room Support
- Provide backup assistance with sterile compounding activities in accordance with USP , USP , and company policies when assigned
- Follow proper aseptic technique, garbing, hand hygiene, and clean room protocols under pharmacist supervision
- Assist with documentation, labeling, and preparation of compounded medications
- Participate in clean room cleaning tasks, environmental monitoring support, and supply restocking as directed
Documentation, Safety & Compliance
- Accurately scan, upload, organize, and file patient documentation and delivery records
- Identify and communicate discrepancies or concerns related to orders, inventory, or deliveries
- Adhere to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including HIPAA, USP , USP , ACHC, and state/federal requirements
- Complete all required delivery driver and pharmacy technician competency validations
- Maintain a strong focus on patient and staff safety at all times
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Registered and in good standing as a Pharmacy Technician with the Board of Pharmacy
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work independently and follow strict protocols
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Reliable transportation and strong punctuality
Preferred
- Previous experience in medical deliveries, courier services, or warehouse operations
- Familiarity with HIPAA, USP , and handling of hazardous medications
- Knowledge of the local and surrounding geography
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification
- IV compounding experience or completion of a compounding technician training program
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, bending, standing, and walking
- Extended periods of driving, including entering and exiting vehicles multiple times daily
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including sterile garb
- Ability to work in controlled environments with limited exposure to hazardous substances while following safety protocols
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, including medication totes, IV fluids, and supplies
- Ability to wear latex and may come in contact with latex-based products
- Regular use of computers and related equipment for documentation and tracking
