For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care. The hospice receives patients from referring institutions throughout New York City and the entire tristate area. Requirements
The Hospice Social Worker provides medical social services, psychosocial and bereavement counseling to the hospice Patients and families.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year bereavement counseling experience is preferred.
- At least one year of Hospice or Home Care experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Position requires ability to commute to multiple territories to ensure continuity of care.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- A vehicle is required to commute to patients. (This requirement does not apply to positions assigned exclusively to Manhattan territory)
- Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
Education:
- MSW from an accredited school of social work and one-year related experience.
- LMSW or LCSW required.
Region : Westchester area
Salary: $94,995.35 - $102,735.04/annually
