Job Description
Hospice Sales Director
We’re seeking a Director of Community Development to lead hospice sales and marketing in the Lubbock market. This leader will build and deepen relationships with key referral sources and payers, execute a market-driven growth plan, and manage a team that consistently delivers results—while keeping patient and family-centered care at the core.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead all daily sales and marketing operations; execute and refine initiatives that drive census growth.
- Conduct market assessments and build a comprehensive marketing plan aligned to volume targets and budget.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, payers, and community partners.
- Support agency leadership with annual volume projections and sales/marketing budget planning.
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and manage the sales/marketing team; create a performance-driven culture.
- Negotiate service contracts and pricing within approved financial parameters; protect reimbursement and margin.
- Track and report marketing effectiveness, resource utilization, and cost-effectiveness of outreach efforts.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the local competitive landscape, payer mix, and key referral pipelines.
- Identify strategic opportunities to expand or improve services based on unmet community needs.

Requirements
- 3+ years of hospice experience preferred (sales/marketing leadership strongly valued).
- Proven ability to lead and develop professional/administrative team members.
- Strong relationship-builder with the ability to market assertively and professionally.
- Solid business acumen (budgeting, negotiation, contract/pricing discussions).
- Excellent written/verbal communication, public relations, problem-solving, and basic math skills.
- Comfortable working autonomously; highly organized with strong time management.
- Flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends as needed to support patient/family timetables.
- Willingness to travel within the service area.
- Valid driver’s license and insured, reliable vehicle.
