HOSPICE VOLUNTEERA Path of Care Hospice in Weatherford, OK is seeking a part‑time Hospice Patient Care Volunteer to support patients and families by providing companionship, practical assistance, and emotional support. Volunteers are welcomed into a supportive environment that values compassion, personal growth, and service.What You'll Do as a Hospice Patient Care VolunteerVolunteers extend the reach of hospice staff by offering companionship and practical support that helps patients remain safely and comfortably at home. Responsibilities may include:Providing companionship by sitting with patients, reading to them, or helping them write letters
Running errands such as grocery shopping or driving patients to appointments
Assisting with light housekeeping or laundry
Offering emotional support and encouragement to patients and families
Helping carry out aspects of the patient's care plan as directed
Observing and reporting any changes or concerns promptly
Promoting a safe home environment and reducing risks of accidents
Assignments are matched to your interests and comfort level, ensuring a meaningful and supportive experience for both you and the patient.QualificationsWillingness to complete hospice volunteer training and orientation
No close personal loss through death within the past year
Physical ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift/carry 40+ pounds
Respectful, patient, and compassionate demeanor
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliability, punctuality, and good organizational habits
Ability to remain calm and supportive in emotionally challenging situations
