Hospitalist/ Nocturnist (Full Time)

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and talented physician to join our Hospitalist team with the Department of Medicine. We serve a culturally diverse population with a wide spectrum of medical conditions. A Nocturnist/Hospitalist is a physician specializing in the comprehensive care of hospitalized patients. They manage patient treatment from admission to discharge, coordinate with specialists, and ensure continuity of care.

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a 220-bed teaching hospital located in a residential neighborhood directly on the border of northern Brooklyn and Western Queens. As a Hospitalist Physician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality inpatient care at our institution. The Hospitalist will be responsible for managing patient health conditions, coordinating with other healthcare professionals, and providing patient consultations. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to assess their medical condition and to establish treatment protocols
• Develop and manage treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Perform medical procedures as needed
• Coordinate and oversee patient care in the hospital, including specialists and ancillary staff
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly
• Communicating with patients and families about conditions and care plans
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
• Participating in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and hospital policies

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent
• Completion of post graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• Current, unrestricted New York State license.
• Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration.
• Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
• Excellent communication, bedside manners and organizational skills
• Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
• ACLS/BCLS certification
• Experience in inpatient care (2–5 years preferred)

Work Environment

• Inpatient hospital setting
• 7 days on/7 days off work schedule (7:00 pm - 7:00 am)
• Reports to Chief Hospitalist

We offer an attractive salary, paid malpractice, generous paid time off program, CME days plus allowance, retirement benefits and a competitive benefit package. Compensation ranges from $260 to $310K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits) based upon years of experience.
