Job Responsibilities
- Ensure operations are in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Oversee the hiring, orienting, and training of production employees to ensure a competent workforce.
- Develop operations staff to an effective team by setting appropriate goals and expectations.
- Oversee the production process to ensure the quality of our products.
- Plan and coordinate daily production activities (maintain shift schedules, follow production schedules).
- Coordinate with Hot Rolling Mill Maintenance, Tooling and Process Engineering regarding equipment maintenance and process improvements to achieve maximum mill performance.
- Plan and coordinate down day and outage activities (e. g. industrial cleaning, 5S workshops etc.).
- Initiate and/or be part of 5S workshops, root cause analysis meetings, continuous improvement activities.
- Identify and lead capital projects.
- Monitor and maintain the Hot Rolling Mill operations budget.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Associates degree in a technical field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years technical leadership experience in coordinating production activities for heavily automated manufacturing environments and processes.
- Seamless pipe manufacturing experience preferred.
- Must be proficient in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting;
- Strong Safety awareness/experience and compliance.
- Basic SAP & general computer knowledge required.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel/PowerPoint/Word.
- Understanding of data acquisition systems such as IBA is preferred.
- Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills; must have the ability to organize, present and explain complex data in a clear manner to both internal and external customers.
- Detail oriented with proven analytical, problem identification and resolution skills;
- Ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere with team building experience; ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisors, coworkers and management.
