Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hotel Houseperson to join our team. As a Hotel Houseperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our hotels rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. Your attention to detail and commitment to hospitality will ensure our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Overview: To assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of hotel premises, ensuring a pleasant and positive guest experience by managing linen and cleaning tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Clean rooms as needed, including hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Abide by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
- Move and arrange furniture, dust, and polish furniture, metalwork, and equipment.
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, and powered machinery. Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies with a vacuum cleaner.
- Collect soiled linens for laundering and store clean linens in the linen closet.
- Clean bathrooms and replenish supplies as needed.
- Restock rooms with necessary supplies (towels, etc.) and prepare the cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for the shift.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays; transport trash to disposal areas.
- Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
- 11. Handle all requests for luggage assistance in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner.
- 12. Handle items for "Lost and Found" according to hotel standards.
- 13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Skills:
- Ability to lift, carry, or pull heavy objects.
- Ability to understand and follow simple instructions.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to procedures and techniques.
- Ability to perform routine tasks repeatedly with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to greet and interact with guests in a friendly and warm manner.
- Availability to work overtime and irregular hours.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial work is a plus, but not required.
- Weekends and Holidays required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Reliability and punctuality.
