Job Description

A Hotel Maintenance Technician is an essential part of the hospitality industry

They are responsible for ensuring that guests can enjoy their stay comfortably, safely, and without any technical issues. Their job is to maintain all aspects of the hotel building, including heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical and other systems. They work closely with the hotel management to schedule regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot any problems that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of hotel facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Repairs: Diagnose and repair issues with equipment and systems, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to guests.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement a preventive maintenance program to address potential issues before they become significant problems.
  • Guest Interaction: Respond to guest repair requests promptly and courteously, ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and request additional supplies as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials and equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Technical training or certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in maintenance or repair work, particularly in a hospitality setting, is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using various tools and equipment, as well as a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with guests & staff.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.

Working Conditions

  • Maintenance Technicians may be required to work flexible hours and as well require heavy lifting, stooping and manual labor.
