Job Description Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, service-oriented leader to oversee a diverse portfolio of upper upscale operations, with a primary emphasis on our Food & Beverage division. The Hotel Manager will work closely with the General Manager to deliver results that advance the hotel's mission and overall success. This role serves as the strategic operational lead with a primary focus on the Food & Beverage division, overseeing two signature restaurants, In-Room Dining, and elevated Pool service. In addition to driving F&B excellence, the Hotel Manager oversees the Private Residences and manages relationships with commercial leasing tenants. The goal is to drive revenue, control costs, and deliver an elite level of product and service quality while upholding all company policies and regulations.

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • F&B Leadership:Provide visionary leadership for the F&B division, including two full-service restaurants, In-Room Dining, and the Pool deck. Ensure seamless service, creative menu execution, and high-energy atmosphere management.
  • Operational Oversight:Oversee the Private Residences department and serve as the primary liaison for commercial leasing tenants, ensuring all lease agreements and service standards are met.
  • Service Excellence:Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service. Instill a passion for "Sonesta G.U.E.S.T." standards across all departments, specifically ensuring F&B teams provide a luxury-level guest experience.
  • Financial Performance:Monitor and manage the hotel budget with a heavy emphasis on F&B COGS, labor engineering, and revenue generation. Assist the GM in developing capital and operational budgets that support owner objectives.
  • Quality Assurance:Conduct regular inspections of dining outlets, residential common areas, and commercial spaces to identify maintenance needs and ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and safety regulations.
  • Collaboration:Work in lockstep with the Director of Rooms and Director of Engineering to ensure fluid coordination between front-of-house service and back-of-house support.
  • Brand Positioning:Manage the Sonesta brand through marketing programs, guest recognition (Travel Pass), and the creation of "everyday surprises" within the dining and residential journey.
  • Human Resources:In partnership with HR, lead the recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing performance management of a diverse team, fostering a culture of professional growth and accountability.
  • Compliance:Ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, and local laws, with a rigorous focus on health department standards and responsible alcohol service (TIPS/ServSafe).
  • Executive Support:Act as General Manager in their absence and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • F&B Expertise:Strong background in high-volume, multi-outlet Food & Beverage management is required.
  • Experience:Extensive experience in full-service or luxury hotel operations; experience managing residential components or commercial tenants is highly preferred.
  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Financial Acumen:Advanced understanding of P&L statements, specifically regarding F&B margins and commercial lease revenue.
  • Communication:Professional verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak, read, and write fluent English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Systems:Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Opera; experience with modern Point of Sale (POS) and inventory management systems.
  • Leadership:Proven ability to motivate large, diverse teams and develop future leaders.
  • Flexibility:Ability to work flexible hours, including late nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the nature of the F&B and hotel business.
