Position: Hotel Night Audit SupervisorLocation: The Hotel at the University of MarylandDepartment: Front OfficeReports To: Front Office ManagerStatus: Full Time

Salary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour (experience-based compensation)

Who You Are

You're the calm leader of the overnight team—a detail-oriented professional with strong problem-solving skills, a welcoming presence, and a sharp eye for numbers. While the rest of the world sleeps, you ensure the hotel operates smoothly by supporting guests, guiding the overnight team, and overseeing nightly financial processes. You're not just closing the books—you're supervising operations, maintaining standards, and preparing the hotel for a successful day ahead.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and support overnight front desk operations, ensuring exceptional guest service at all times
  • Lead the night audit process, including running audit reports, reconciling accounts, and verifying daily transactions
  • Review and balance room, tax, and revenue postings to ensure financial accuracy
  • Assist with late-night check-ins, early departures, and guest inquiries or concerns
  • Serve as the overnight point of contact for staff and guests, resolving issues calmly and efficiently
  • Monitor hotel security, safety procedures, and overall property conditions during the overnight shift
  • Prepare and distribute daily financial and operational reports for management and accounting
  • Ensure the lobby and front desk areas remain clean, organized, and guest-ready
  • Provide guidance and support to overnight front desk staff, ensuring adherence to hotel standards and procedures
  • Communicate important operational updates and guest concerns to the morning management team

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of front desk or night audit experience, with prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong math, analytical, and computer skills; experience with Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Opera or OnQ preferred
  • Ability to lead the overnight shift independently while maintaining high operational standards
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and guest service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities overnight
  • Dependability, professionalism, and a guest-first mindset
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed

Additional Responsibilities

The hotel operates seven (7) days per week, twenty-four (24) hours per day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands, and employees may be required to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.

Employees are required to adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including but not limited to those outlined in the employee handbook.
