Job Description

House Manager - First Resources Corp.

Location: Ottumwa, IAFull-time Opportunity

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

First Resources Corp. of Ottumwa is growing and we are searching for dedicated and energetic full-time House Managers for our Ottumwa sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the health and safety of the assigned work environment. They will provide supervision, training, and assistance to individuals receiving residential services and supports, such as individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or chronic mental illness. The individuals we work with require 24-hour support, either in their home or out in their community.

Job Summary:As a House Manager, you will be responsible for the health and safety of the assigned work environment. You will provide supervision, training, and assistance to individuals receiving residential services and supports. This includes individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or chronic mental illness who require 24-hour support, either in their home or out in their community.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Complete documentation related to services provided, including seizure logs, petty cash sheets, incident reports, relevant checklists, etc.
  • Document daily services within 24 hours of service delivery, including individual's progress on goals, activities, responses, interactions, staff supports, and completion of personal cares as needed.
  • Remain actively involved with the individual(s) throughout your shift, encouraging participation in leisure activities.
  • Advocate and offer choices that support individual rights and responsibilities.
  • Ensure safety standards are adhered to and proper action is taken to correct any violations, including immediate communication involving potential health and safety risks.
  • Assist in objectively evaluating individuals' skills through input requested during regular site/staff meetings.
  • Provide mentoring to new DSPs at a specific residential site.
  • Complete weekly household tasks, as appropriate, to ensure fluid programming. Tasks may include menu planning/grocery shopping, tracking petty cash and individual expenses, medication compliance related to medication administering, and household cleanliness.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record and proof of auto insurance.
  • Experience is preferred but not required; thorough training will be provided.
