About Our Family:
We are a busy dual-physician family living in Jackson, Tennessee with two young children (2 and almost 4) and a friendly cat. Between demanding careers and raising young kids, our home stays full and active.
Health and nutrition are important priorities in our home, and we aim to cook most meals using fresh, wholesome ingredients. We're looking for some support in this area, including light meal prep and preparing a few simple, healthy meals throughout the week.
More broadly, we're hoping to find someone who can help keep the household running smoothly behind the scenes. This includes helping with laundry, tidying and resetting the home, running occasional errands, and supporting the general flow of the household so our family can focus more on work, parenting, and time together.
We value reliability, professionalism, and someone who takes pride in helping a busy household run smoothly.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate enjoys helping a home run smoothly and takes pride in thoughtful, often behind-the-scenes support. You notice the details, anticipate needs, and enjoy creating and maintaining systems that keep a busy household organized and calm.
You are someone who is:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through
- Proactive and self-directed, able to anticipate needs without constant direction after an onboarding period to learn the family's preferences
- Comfortable with healthy cooking and kitchen prep, especially whole-food ingredients
- Professional and discreet, with strong respect for privacy in a family home
- Calm, reliable, and steady, able to manage household tasks with care and consistency
- Comfortable working independently while communicating with and keeping the family informed
- Warm and respectful with children, while understanding the primary focus is household support
- Polished and professional, comfortable interacting with external vendors or service providers (e.g., lawn care service, handymen, plumbers, etc.)
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys hands-on household work and keeping a home organized and running smoothly, rather than someone looking for a primarily childcare or professional chef position. Candidates with experience in household management, education, administrative work, personal assistance, or caregiving often thrive in this type of role.
What a Typical Day & Success in This Role Might Look Like
You might start the day by unloading the dishwasher, resetting the kitchen, and doing a quick tidy of the main living spaces. From there, you may prep ingredients for the week—washing and chopping produce, organizing the refrigerator, or preparing proteins to make weeknight cooking easier. Midday might include running a quick errand, folding laundry, or putting away household deliveries. Before wrapping up, you may check in on the kids after school or help with pick-ups, refresh the home for the evening, and make sure everything is ready for the family's night ahead.
Over time, success in this role means:
- The kitchen stays organized with fresh ingredients prepped and ready, making healthy weeknight meals easy for the family.
