About Our Family

We're a warm and welcoming family of four based in San Antonio. Both parents work full-time with limited flexibility during the day, so evenings can quickly become busy and overwhelming. We have two young boys who are both in school full-time, and our home is active, social, and filled with family, friends, and neighbors — especially on weekends when we enjoy hosting and spending time together.

We're highly engaged and successful in our professional lives, and looking for support with the day-to-day household systems that keep everything running smoothly. Between meal planning, household organization, and managing the many small details of family life, we're ready for someone who can bring structure, consistency, and ease to our home.

Our housekeeper handles cleaning and laundry, so this role is focused on executive household support beyond those tasks — creating systems, managing details, preparing meals, helping with organization, and anticipating what needs to happen next.

The ideal person is someone who naturally notices opportunities to make a home function better and takes initiative to make it happen. If you enjoy creating order, building thoughtful systems, and helping a family's daily life run more smoothly, this could be a great fit.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is seasoned, self-directed, and naturally systems-oriented. You're someone who can walk into a household, identify what needs improvement, and create solutions without needing extensive direction. Whether it's building a pantry system, improving household routines, or creating more efficient processes, you take pride in bringing order, consistency, and ease to a home.

Because the family is typically out of the house while you're working, strong communication and reliability are essential. You're responsive, comfortable working independently, and you bring your own experience and methodology to create systems that last. Above all, you're warm, trustworthy, and genuinely enjoy helping a household run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

This role centers on keeping the household running smoothly, with a few core priorities that anchor the work. Other responsibilities support the overall flow of the home and are handled as time allows or as needs arise. The goal is to focus on what matters most — creating and maintaining systems that bring order, consistency, and ease to daily family life.

Daily Must-Haves: Core Priorities

Meal Planning & Prep

  • Develop a weekly meal schedule for the family, including sourcing recipes that work for a picky young eater
  • Batch prep one to two meals per week (cook once, eat twice — or stock the freezer)
  • Prepare ingredients and component items so the family can easily assemble meals on busy nights
  • Manage grocery ordering on a weekly basis, aligned with the meal plan and household needs
  • Maintain an ongoing, organized shopping list for pantry and household supplies
  • Light kitchen clean-up and maintenance

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Create and maintain practical organization systems throughout the home — pantry, mudroom, entry, garage, playroom, and bathroom storage are priority areas
  • Perform daily resets and prepare the home ahead of the Thursday housekeeper visit
  • Light tidying as needed: dishes, surfaces, and high-traffic areas

Inventory & Errands

  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
  • General errands: returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping
  • Open, sort, and recycle mail and packages; break down boxes

These core responsibilities come first. Once they are handled, additional support can shift based on the time available, household priorities, and needs that week, including:

Family Support & Child Assistance

  • Pack the younger child's lunchbox and daycare bag (cold foods, fridge-ready for the next day)
  • Prep healthy snacks; baked goods welcome when time allows
  • Kid-related errands as needed

Household Organization & Special Projects

  • Handle seasonal clothing swaps for the kids
  • Coordinate and drop off donations (ongoing)
  • Occasional event, holiday, and guest prep for weekend hosting

Administrative Support

  • Help design and maintain a family calendar system
  • Coordinate medical and other appointments
  • Research vendors, coordinate quotes, and support repairs as needed

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Be present on-site during contractor, landscaper, or cleaner visits to serve as the household point of contact (scheduling coordination, not ongoing communication management)
  • Manage outdoor spaces: wash outdoor cushions seasonally and assist with outdoor prep as needed
  • As-needed maintenance tasks: batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc.

Deep Cleaning & Seasonal Projects

  • Open to occasional seasonal deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards)

How to Apply

Please submit:

  • A short letter introducing yourself and explaining why you'd be a great fit.
  • Your updated resume.
  • Three professional references with contact information.
