Housekeeper

The housekeeping team maintains clean, safe, and sanitary camp facilities, performing daily cleaning, restocking, and sanitization tasks while supporting camp operations environment in a remote setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Safety

• Exercise stop-work authority when necessary
• Complete Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments for each job
• Participate in daily tool box meetings and weekly safety meetings
• Follow site safety and hazardous communications procedures when performing tasks

General Housekeeping

• Work cooperatively and productively with the housekeeping team
• Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, washing floors, washing walls, and laundering towels and linens
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and showers per applicable Sanitization Policy
• Clean and inspect sleeping tents, offices and common spaces according to applicable Sanitization Policy
• Replace dirty linens and towels with clean items
• Inspect and turn mattresses regularly
• Occasionally assist with cleaning in the core shack, kitchen and vehicles
• Ensure confidentiality and security of personnel tents and cabins
• Check stock levels of products such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, sundries and laundry detergent and replace when appropriate
• Empty and clean trash containers
• Ensure tools and equipment are in good operating order

Sanitization

• Ensure proper sanitization product is used for appropriate task

Communication

• Report all safety, environmental and security incidents to site management immediately

QUALFICATIONS

Experience

• Previous housekeeping or janitorial work experience preferred, with training in the proper use of cleaning products, equipment and methods preferred
• Previous experience working in remote camps preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work effectively in a team setting
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change
• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete daily tasks in a timely manner
• Knowledge of basic cleaning products, tools and techniques
• Ability to exercise good judgement and discretion
• Ability to read and interpret labels, instruction manuals and Safety Data Sheets as well as to record daily notes and shared logs
• Ability to work for long periods in a remote location, with exposure to weather extremes
• Ability to frequently lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30lbs).
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.

This is a seasonal position, expected to work from April to October, on a rotational schedule.
