Job Description

Join our team at Yoakum Community Hospital as a PRN Housekeeper! Since 1922, we have been committed to providing top-notch healthcare, and we are looking for dedicated individuals to help us maintain a safe, sanitized, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Sanitization & Hygiene: Clean and disinfect patient areas, bathrooms, and showers daily. Utilize scrubbing and spraying techniques to maintain a sterile, safe environment.
  • Floor & Surface Care: Sweep, dust mop, and wet mop hospital hallways, waiting rooms, offices, and entrances. Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture as needed.
  • Detail-Oriented Cleaning: Dust furniture, polish metalwork, and wipe down walls, woodwork, windows, and sills (safely utilizing ladders when necessary).
  • Waste Management: Empty and reline wastebaskets and transport waste to disposal areas efficiently. Ensure exterior entrances remain spotless by picking up litter and emptying bins.
  • Supply & Linen Management: Distribute freshly laundered linens to ensure patient comfort. Replenish bathroom supplies and keep your work cart fully stocked.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Carefully prepare and use chemical cleaning solutions with proper labeling. Promptly report any faulty equipment or unusual problems to leadership.
  • Equipment Care: Disinfect all cleaning equipment at the end of each shift to uphold our high hygiene standards.
  • Facility Support: Organize utility and storage rooms, assist with moving furniture or equipment as directed, and participate in a rotating call schedule as assigned.
