Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is looking for team members who will help advance our vision to be the premier hospital of choice for patients, physicians and employees. IMC is currently hiring a Housekeeping attendant to join our Environmental Services department, working the North Campus 10:30AM-7:00AM shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
No previous experience required, but current hospital Housekeeping experience is desired
1-3 years of relatable experience preferred
Job requires employee to perform tasks and assignments under the supervision of Floor Supervisor and/or Department Manager. Is expected to analyze situations and act within the scope of standard procedures.

PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
Uses the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
Observes safety precautions at all times. Uses safety signs, WET FLOOR and ropes off sections of floor for cleaning where appropriate.
Performs all aspects of assigned tasks in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Knowledgeable of all cleaning chemicals used in surgical suite, Ability to dress out appropriately before entering/leaving surgical suite, Surgical suites & PACU cleaning and sanitizing. Removal of all surgical waste and refuse both biohazard and standard refuse
Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors.
