Our Lady of Prompt Succor Parish, Chackbay, LA

Housekeeping Associate

The Housekeeping Associate is a part-time, non-exempt position that will be responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of the parish facilities for Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church-Chackbay.

The Housekeeping Associate reports to the Director of Business Operations and will be expected to work approximately 10 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following:

Performs routine cleaning of each parish building weekly.

Performs annual deep cleaning of each parish building.

Collects and disposes of garbage around the parish.

Keeps inventory of all cleaning and janitorial supplies in each building.

Assists with the setup and clean up of parish events, as needed.

Qualifications to Perform the Job Successfully:

Education and/or Experience:

General facilities upkeep, housekeeping, and cleaning practices knowledge

Other Skills and Requirements:

Must be able to successfully complete Safe Environment training.

Must have a driver's license with a good driving record.

Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English.

Ability to conduct oneself with a professional attitude and manner.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive situations, documents, and records.

Basic knowledge and respect for the Catholic Church, her teachings, and her values.

Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.

Must be able to communicate clearly by phone, in written form including email, and verbally to staff members and parishioners.

Must be able to multi-task and set priorities.

Must be able to regularly walk, stand, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders, and the like for long periods of time.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
