Job Description
Residence Inn Midland is currently seeking a skilled Housekeeper to become part of our dedicated housekeeping team, including weekend inspection duties. This role involves hands-on housekeeping tasks during the week, complemented by inspection and quality control responsibilities over the weekends. We are looking for a candidate who takes pride in their work, communicates effectively, and enjoys contributing to a high-standard guest experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Housekeeping:
- Obtain room assignments from supervisor
- Clean rooms according to established procedures
- Know correct procedure for entering a guest room
- Check room for damaged furniture and equipment
- Restock your cart at the end of each shift and return cart to storage area
- Maintain a clean and orderly housekeeping cart and storage areas
- Report all deficiencies and problems in guest rooms to the Maintenance Engineer daily
- Be alert to all possible hazards and practice safety at all times
- Adhere to Lost and Found procedures
- Provide the highest quality of service to the guests
- Follow all safety procedures and policies for all guests and employees
Inspecting:
- Complete administrative duties that may include: inventory and productivity reports
- Inspect all areas of the hotel daily to ensure cleanliness and security standards are met
- Assist with monthly linen and supply inventories
- Attend and participate in staff meetings
- Inspect each guest room daily unless prohibited by a “Do Not Disturb” indication sign
- Assist in the cleaning of guest rooms and ensure housekeepers are maintaining orderly housekeeping carts and storage rooms
- Ensure laundry room procedures and standards are upheld and perform laundry duties as required
- Ensure houseperson procedures and standards are upheld and perform houseperson duties as required
- Expertise in property management systems for housekeeping functions and ensure room status is without discrepancy daily using Lodgco forms and procedures
- Knowledge of all emergency procedures and PIC duties
- Adhere to proper key control procedures
- Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the General Manager/Executive Housekeeper immediately

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years of hotel experience is a plus

Satisfactory criminal background screening required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to verbally communicate, listen, stand for long periods of time, ability to walk, kneel, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This position requires variable hours based on the needs of the hotel including nights and weekends.
